Baby time

Terry and I babysat Stephanie and Jeff's babe Lindsay Friday night, and we're pleased to say that everyone had a good time, possibly even Lindsay. She was a good start to our weekend, which came after what seemed like a never ending work week. And Stephanie and Jeff got a few hours to themselves to have a nice dinner out. All in all, a success!

We also hung out Saturday night at our friends' Rich and Melissa's house for Rich's surprise going away party. Rich is heading down to D.C. for a fantastic promotion, and Melissa will follow a few months afterwards. We're happy for them, yet so sad to see them leave! Apparently Terry and I ruined the surprise because he saw our car parked on the street, even though we'd parked a block and a half away. He said he had suspected anyway. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from last night that are fit to publish online. You can just use your imagination.

beerfest

This weekend has been especially cold in Boston, so Terry and I met up with our friends Joe and Emily and hit the Beer Summit downtown to warm up a bit. What a good time! They give you mini beer mugs and you walk around to a number of different breweries and sample their different beers. Of course, only the afternoon session was available, and it is a bit weird to be drinking so much beer at 12:30. Needless to say, we all went home afterwards ready for a nap. Then we woke up this morning to more snow. It is winter, after all.

Brrrrr

It snowed again this weekend in Boston. Not too much, just five or six inches, but I'm tired of winter already! We also haven't had hot water in our building (shown above) since Friday night, so we're feeling very chilly. Every now and then the faucet runs luke warm, but it never lasts long. As such, we haven't done too much this weekend, but we did get out to look at some wedding ring possibilities and to get some groceries. Otherwise, we've been snuggled under blankets eating junk food. We've gotta bulk up to ward off the chill. We did learn how long it would take to fill the bathtub with warm water by heating water on the stove... I just can't imagine how people bathed before hot water heaters. Anyway, happy winter everyone!
