Terry and I headed to Albany this weekend to see some of Terry's friends from his college days at Siena College. We saw his friend Ryan rock out at a gig Friday night at the Lark Tavern, which was very impressive. His band is called the Red-Haired Strangers, and they play very well.
After staying up late and sleeping in that morning, we went for lunch the next day with Ryan, his wife Laura, and their son. Lunch was the preamble for Terry and Ryan's caving escapade. They checked out a local cave, which from what they've told me, was pretty scary to get into, but they came back quite muddy. I decided to sit out (they only had two helmets), and read my book instead.
Next on the activity list was a Siena College basketball game! This was lots of fun, and honestly, reminds me of how annoying we all must have been as college students at CU. The place was lousy with young students in Siena t-shirts with way too much school spirit. Terry's friend Mike (who also went to Siena) came out from Adams, Mass., to visit and catch the game as well. Siena won, which was an awesome way to end our Albany outing. Terry and I headed back to Boston after the game.
Terry's weekend wasn't done there though. While I was too tired and wanted to have a quiet Sunday, Terry went to "judge" at our friend Joe's chili cook off. Then he came back and crashed on the couch. We're hoping to rest up a bit this week. We're happy we got out to Albany though. Hopefully we'll do it again sooner rather than later.
